Meet the Author

Alexis Schmitz remembers her first visit to the Winchester House as a child. The intruiging background and lingering mysteries of the house stuck with her and were reignited when she took her own children for a visit years later. Alexis is a teacher with over 20 years experience, who loves learning and teaching through creativity and exploration. She has written curriculum for elementary school, contributed to educational magazines, and is a parent to four children, whom she homeschooled for many years. Alexis loves wonderful stories – especially mysteries! She lives on the coast of Central California where, in her free time, she can often be found doing her own favorite type of sleuthing – searching for sea creatures in the local tidepools.
